Where is a good steak restaurant in chicago?
I want to find a steak restaurant around the downtown chicago area, of course price does matter. I prefer something that is affordable. Any help is appreciated.

- Never been there, but i hear Michael Jordans is pretty good.
- Butcher Shop, Lawry's (Prime Rib), Smith and Wollensky, Chicago Prime Steak House, Ruth's Chris, Carmichael's
- Morton's, Lawry's, Rosebud is phenomenal...one of my fav's as well as Bono's fav, but don't let Bono have any bearing on your decision:)
- Kinzie Chophouse
- Mortons steak house is incredible. You will pay for what you get ,but VERY well worth the visit. It is a great place for a romantic dinner. Look it up, you will not be sorry for the choice.
- FOGO DE CHAO THE BEST!
- All of the answers I've seen on here are very good options, however they are not price-sensitive. These are some expensive joints! I love Smith & Wollensky - Chef Hans is a stitch. Fogo is sweet, but it's $48.50 just to sit down. My advice to you is to use the website www.opentable.com. They'll let you sort by cuisine, neighborhood, and price to find something in that area for a reasonable amount of $$. And when you find something you like, you can actually make reservations right there on the site. I use it all the time and it works great.
- Fogo De Chao Been there loved it highley reccommended!
- Lowry's!
- Gibson's on Rush....great people watching too
- Gibson's on Rush is the best, but my wife likes Wildfire, which isn't bad either.
- I agree with the answers other people wrote, you have a really good selection list of names of steak places, check it out !!
- Gibson's and Ruth Chris
- Hands down Morton's. Fillet oscar, and the godiva choc. cake for dessert. Yes it's expensive, but out of all the others in this range, it is the best.
