What is the best way to fry a steak in a frying pan?
I've been cooking steaks and been trying different types of ways to cook a steak. I tried southwest steak and montreal steak. But I want to try different types. So please give me your info.

- Sear one side first, flip and cook through. This works well for everything but a really thick steak, say over 3 inches. To sear, have the pan hot and just a bit of oil before the steak goes in. The searing seals in most of the juices and avoids that dry and chewy steak that the dogs end up with.
- put steak in eggs that have been beat then put your steak in flour then fry!!!
- Slowly
- make sure before you think you found the right answer you like the ingredients listed, as you know we are all unique and like diff tastes therefore u might not like their way of cooking it. good appeti
- use maybe 2ounces of virgin olive oil and minced garlic (as much as you like). When the oil is nice and hot, take you salt and peppered steaks down on one side and let it cook for about 5 minutes on HIGH. Then turn it down for a few minutes depending on how you like your meat cooked (rare, welldone??). Turn the burner back up all the way to high and turn over the steaks. repeat what you did on the first side. When you see blood pooling on top of the steak, that means that it is medium rare. cook longer if you wish and enjoy!!!
- Okay, here goes... First, put the steak in a bowl filled with Jack Daniel's or Jim Beam for about 2 hours. Then, take another bowl and put some olive oil in the bowl and add minced garlic with paprika. Stir that until it is completely mixed. Pour the olive oil mixture into the skillet (just enough to line the bottom and sides of the skillet) and then turn the heat on low. When the olive oil starts to heat up, place the steak in the pan and turn the heat up to a medium setting. Cook it until it is "browned" on both sides (obviously, flip it over halfway). The most important thing: don't cook it over medium rare -- if you do, you shouldn't be eating steak, you should be chewing on cardboard for dinner... after all, it's cheaper and tastes about the same as an overcooked steak.
- little bit butter, little bit olive oil on high heat for trwo minutes per side then finish on low till done, covered low and slow
