Is it appropriate to order beer at fancy steak restaurant when they just have a wine list?

Public Comments

  1. Absolutely
  2. If they have beer in stock, you can order it.
  3. Hell yea. Beer and New York Strip medium rare
  4. Yes. I work at a steak house.. and we sell gallons more beer than we do wine. Just ask your waitress for a beer list, and if they have none.. that's just not right. As far as etiquette goes.. it's a steakhouse no one is going to care what you drink or how you drink it.
  5. It is totally fine. Nothing like a steak and beer. If they serve beer, you can order it. Most of my customers did, or they'd order a liquor drink, not so much wine. Somewhere on the menu they should list their beer selection so you don't have to ask, but asking is totally OK.
  6. If they have it on the menu, you can order it.. If it's not, you can't...
  7. Yes, it's perfectly fine to order a beer with your steak. Just because they have a wine list doesn't mean you have to order from it. Order what you like, you're paying!
  8. If they stock beer, they will be delighted to sell it to you. Go for it.
  9. If they SERVE beer, I don't see why you should order "wine" if you prefer BEER. Order what YOU want....YOU'RE paying for it.
  10. if they serve beer, i would assume it's 'appropriate' otherwise they wouldn't have it available suit yourself, have what you want
  11. Definately.
  12. If they only have a wine list, try something new. If not, get get some water with a lime.
