What is a good appetizer to have before a Steak dinner.?
Right now I'm thinking a nice Red wine, and a main course of a new york strip, baked potato and mixed veggies. But what is a good appetizer? Shrimp? Something else?

- I LOVE CALAMARY, OR A LOBSTER MINI PIZZA
- i would try something citrus-based.
- Dude, you have the perfect meal. Well, almost, you didn't make mention of a GF or wife. I think that's what I would have as the appetizer.
- Yep, I was thinking shrimp-good choice...enjoy :)
- sounds like you're going high class. shrimp all the way. maybe a loaf of french bread with olive oil and pepper to dip it in. instead of cocktail sauce mix mayo and chili sauce. it's delicious!
- Sauteed Portabella mushrooms in garlic butter w/worchestershire sauce...or you could have brie w/water crackers.
- Oysters over ice with a squeeze of lemon.
- Salad.
- Mmmm bacon wrapped scollops...
- Here at Argentina we have grilled provolone cheese, with some oregano. The wine is OK but I would say NO to the shrimp. It can be also sliced salami and cheese variety on a board, plus some olives....
- fresh oysters....and where and what time is this dinner...lol, enjoy
- seafood would be best. if you think someone may have a shellfish alergy, bacon wrapped artichoke hearts are good (NOT marinaded...packed in water). don't scrimp on the wine. a good cab is clos du val (NOT clos du bois) out of napa. $25 a bottle or so if you can swing it. good luck!
- STUFFED MUSHROOMS OR CALAMARI
- I would think a good shrimp cocktial...a lobster bisque.. maybe a nice asian chicken salad...jsut about anything
- do a shrimp tempura with a sashimi salad w/tangy rice wine vinaigrette topped with the shrimp tempura Chef Richard
- Toasted french bread, hot out of the oven with warm brie cheese. Fabulouso!
- dog loaf, in oregano slurpy sauce
