  1. slice green peppers add gravy let cook serve over rice, peppered steak mmmmmmmmmmmmm
  2. My favorite way to eat a cube steak is fried in a pan....with caramelized onions and peppers on the side, and served as a sandwich on toasted garlic bread, with the onions and peppers on the sandwich...Don't forget the swiss cheese!
  3. i fry my cube steak; drain the fat, add onions and bell peppers to the hot pan with a cup of water then put the meat in the pan and let simmer; this makes a thick gravy. i also usually have white rice and corn and rolls. Enjoy!!
  4. Season the steaks with any seasoning like Lawry's or just plain old salt and pepper. Dip the steaks in buttermilk and then dredge them in some flower, coating them thickly. Bring some vegetable or peanut oil up to a high heat on medium flame(preferably in cast iron skillet). Drop the steaks in the oil, they should bubble wildly, but not smoke. Flip them over when the bottom gets crispy.(only takes a minute or so) and remove them when the bottom gets crispy. they are done.... you have chicken fried steak. salt them to taste while they are hot. serve them with biscuits........to make gravy.. pour out all the oil from the pan except for about a tablespoon. put about a tablespoon or two in the bottom of the pan and mix it around with the drippings. Add a cup of whole milk, or more for desired consistancy... and bring to boil... let cook for a few more minutes. add salt and pepper (quite a bit of pepper) to taste. serve immediately with hot biscuits. DELICIOUS.
  5. Swiss steak is a favorite in our house! Crushed tomatoes, onion, celery, green pepper, mushrooms, and oregano or italian seasoning to taste, and simmer or bake the cube steaks the mixture on low stirring occassionally.
  6. Chicken fried steak is our favorite. They call it chicken fried because you make it similar to fried chicken. Meat Egg Crushed saltine crackers Flour salt and pepper to taste In an electric skillet or frying pan you will need to cover the bottom with cooking oil and get it good and hot make sure you have a good amount of oil (about 350). Take the meat and dip it in the egg. Then into a mixture of the crushed crackers and flour salt and pepper. Enough to make a nice coating all the meat should be covered (kind of squish the meat out a little so it is good and flat). After that place the meat in the hot oil and fry on both sides until the meat is cooked. You can make a white gravy out of the remaining oil and droppings from the steak.......tastes great!!
  7. 4 plum tomatoes, seeded and chopped 1/2 cup diced red onion 1/2 teaspoon salt, divided 1 egg, plus 1 egg white 1 cup plain dry breadcrumbs 1/4 cup grated Pecorino Romano cheese 1/4 cup shaved Pecorino Romano or Parmesan cheese 2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley (optional) 4 (4 ounce) cube steaks 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper, divided 6 teaspoons extra virgin olive oil, divided 4 cups baby arugula, chopped 3/4 cup thinly sliced fresh basil leaves 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice, plus lemon wedges for garnish Combine tomatoes, onion and 1/4 teaspoon salt in a large bowl. Whisk egg and egg white in a shallow dish. Combine breadcrumbs, grated cheese and parsley (if using) in another shallow dish. Season steak with the remaining 1/4 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Dip each piece into the egg, allowing excess to drip off into the dish, then dip in the breadcrumb mixture and turn to coat. Heat 2 teaspoons oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add the steaks and cook until golden brown on the first side, about 3 minutes. Turn the steaks over, add 1 teaspoon oil and cook until the steaks are cooked through, 3 to 4 minutes more. Transfer to a plate; tent with foil to keep warm. Add 1/4 cup shaved cheese to the tomato mixture. Add the remaining 1/4 teaspoon pepper, the remaining 3 teaspoons oil, arugula, basil and lemon juice; toss to combine. Serve the steaks on beds of the arugula-tomato salad. Garnish with lemon wedges. Yield: 4 servings
  8. make country fried steak with mashed potatoes and gravy, yummo!
